Now that there’s a new iPhone, there’s bound to be a new iPod Touch rolling around the corner. Question is, what should be send over from the iPhone to the iPhone minus Phone? Let’s take a look at the features the iPhone has had since inception that the iPhone lacks:
- Phone capabilities (Obviously)
- Camera
- Bluetooth
- Microphone
- External Speaker
- EDGE capability
Add the features that came with the iPhone 3G:
- GPS
- 3G internet accesibility
- New Design
And let’s see what we want. Perhaps I’ll email this to Steve Jobs in a few weeks if I get enough hits. A few things need to be noticed, however. First, the iPod Touch will probably never get to be a normal cell phone, (then it would be an iPhone.) However, if Apple allowed VoIP software, then the iTouch could indeed be the poor man’s iPhone. Second, the iTouch seriously lacks with a voice recorder and camera. I’d definitely use it over my sorry Nokia camera. And I’d love if the iTouch became a full internet device, with access to data plans itself, minus the phone part. Maybe a deal could be made with Cingular or somebody else. Only time will tell. What about you? What would you want to see in the next iTouch?
