I came up with an interesting idea a few days ago: How can I find certain words about something that are closer to the person than others? Then it hit me: I could use Google to figure out which words are more popular to describe a particular thing than other words.

Why would you want to do this, you ask? Well, for starters, you can try to take ahold of the search results in Google (being higher up,) or you can find alternative ways to describe the particular thing you wish to work with and dominate search results that way, a strategy I infer with my Make money online keyword alternatives post. Using Google, you can figure out which words best describe a particular thing.

For an example of this, we’ll use the person I tested this on: An anime character named Light Yagami from the Anime “Death Note.” (NOTE: Please read the Wikipedia entry on Light Yagami before venturing further, if you want information on what we’re going to do with him.)

Anyway, I entered Light’s name into Google along with different words. Here are a few of my results:

  • “Light Yagami” AND Sociopath returned 633 results
  • “Light Yagami” AND Murderer returned 25,800 results
  • “Light Yagami” AND God returned 95,900 results
  • “Light Yagami” AND Justice returned 31,600 results
  • “Light Yagami” AND Genius returned 16,200 results

There’s way more ways we can describe Light Yagami, but I’d like to get to my point: You can try to work with the lowest search results (Sociopath and Genius) or, if you have a high enough Google PR, aim for the higher results for more people.

Furthermore, this technique isn’t just limited to a word. You can also try linking to a phrase, an item, a website, etc. Possibilities are endless. :D

Bonus: Post in the comments about something silly and a thing that describes them, including the results!
