It seems to be a bad day for Social Media, because Facebook is trying too hard to be like Friendfeed, and Twitters not trying hard at all.

Facebook recently added the ability to comment on what goes on people’s mini-feeds concerning profile changes and status changes, so look out for comments from your friends about you being "super drunkz0r, lolz." But this is a prospective look at how Facebook is trying to change its communication methods. Says Download Squad:

It’s one more way of communicating on Facebook, but what does it imply about the future of the wall? What used to be the main point of communication is now one of many, with photo comments, mini-feed comments and messages all in the mix. Will more places to comment make things easier for users? On the plus side for Facebook, users will stay on the site a few seconds longer to check one more place for comments, but is it a plus for you?

Seems to me that Facebook’s trying to be Friendfeed, which after observing the mighty mass of posts that is Robert Scoble’s friendfeed, I strongly discourage for the sake of your bandwidth.

Additionally, it’s now day 2 of Twitter’s no-reply problem, where Twitter, according to the site, "is stressing out." If only Twitter were human. I think Christine Lu probably said it in a funnier way in a twitter post:

wish i could tell people "i’m stressing out a bit right now, so i’m temporarily disabled" & get away with it like twitter.

Yes, I know I can use Summize to get my replies, but man that’s annoying. I really hope they get Twitter back up and running, so I can shoot out a ton of @s.
