Ever wonder what the latest reading material is for the US Army? Wonder what it is that they learn, and how they go about knowing whatever it is that they had to know? Wish that you had the same resources they have in learning about things like Rifle Marksmanship, Combat Service Support, and other goodies? Well, you can always join the army….or you can look at the army’s field manuals.
NOTE: I’m not disclosing anything top secret. In actuality, all of the manuals I found were public domain. So essentially, anyone can read what the army has to say on a number of things.
Not a lot of it is going to be applicable to the average joe, but some manuals, such as Map Reading offer an interesting look at how the army makes maps. Not that a lot of this gets a bit technical, but one can probably get something good out of them.
Some other interesting manuals:
All manuals obtained from Global Security.
