There aren’t a lot of interesting blogs out there that talk about entertainment news well, simply restating what the latest thing that various celebrities and other figures have done to embarrass themselves in public is. However, Buzzpatrol.com offers a new look at reporting celebrity news, often putting in humor that seems to supercede the inherent stupidity within celebrities.
What is Buzzpatrol.com?
Buzzpatrol.com doesn’t have an “About this site” page, but it’s easy to see that this blog is all about entertainment news, or rather, stupid news related to entertainment. Although some of the keywords that the writers of Buzzpatrol wanted to use for their contest were rather vague at times (weird news) they still seem to get their point across on where their niche stands at.
Blogging style
The blogging style is vicious to the celebrities it reports on. One site in particular joes about The Kid Rock’s Crack Diet Plan (WARNING: NSFW!) which basically says every time you’re hungry, look at a picture with Kid Rock’s….posterior showing. Many celebrities seem to fall under the gun here, with Hulk Hogan’s son being reported recently as being hospitalized after speeding.
However, most of the blogs have little, if any, content. Most entries focus solely on the pictures of the celebrities, and only say 1 paragraph at most. If Buzzpatrol improved a bit on the commentary, it might land some higher blogging stats without relying on contests. (Although it seems to be doing well already, there’s always being able to go higher.)
The site itself
With the exception of the pictures, the blog is clean and easy to navigate through. I would recommend adding an “About” page for the blog, and maybe some info about the writer(s) would help too. The ads also seem a bit squished on the left side: Getting a theme that’s a 3-column might help.
Overall, this seems to be one of the better weird celebrity news blogs out there. Maybe with a little work, they could pull some serious influence in the entertainment world.
