In my first post on the concept of Getting Things Blogged, I wrote that the best inbox for your blogging GTD needs is none other then your RSS feed reader. However, I also realized that as time goes on, you’re going to have a rather bloated RSS reader, with all the feeds you’ll need.

With this in mind, here’s a few tips, starting from the obvious.

Sorting

You can sort your RSS feeds any which way you want. Tag them if you have Google Reader, or if you prefer, sort them into folders. This is particularly good if you write in multiple blogs. This way, you know where each folder says what. If you want to do an entry on frogs and dogs, check the frogs folder and dogs folder. Easy, right?

RSS Feeds in your niche

But let’s say you got a bunch of blogs on one subject, but you only cover one narrow part of that subject? Not a problem! All you need to do is create a custom feed using something like Yahoo Pipes to search specifically for your niche in the world. Just put in the feeds, name the terms, and you’re in!

Place high-citing blogs first

A really good tip. Place the blogs you seem to link to the most into the top part of your reader, perhaps creating a top 10 folder where the best content lies. Then, all you need to do is click from the blogs, and there’s the content!

Those are just a few tips to GTDing your inbox. Do you have any more?
